It is a horrible cancer that attacks mesothelium, the thin tissue lining the lungs, the heart, and the stomach. This disease is usually caused by asbestos exposure. The mesothelioma prognosis is usually poor because the patients are usually diagnosed until the cancer is in the more advanced stages. The patients are usually at age 65 years old or older.
